Anson Mount is most known for playing Christopher Pike in Star Trek: Discovery, where he first appeared as James T. Kirk’s USS Enterprise captaining predecessor, and will soon be seen heading Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. But don’t forget that Mount made his mark on the Marvel universe by portraying Black Bolt in ABC’s Inhumans series a few years ago. Mount, on the other hand, would gladly return to Marvel to portray X-Men hero Gambit if given the chance, and he’d be a great option. IMDB
I then mentioned that the X-Men will be introduced in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the future years, and Anson Mount mentioned that Gambit, like himself, is a Southern superhero. That gives the powers-that-be at Marvel Studios a little more motive to at least consider Mount for the Gambit role, assuming it’s an X-Men character being prepared for the MCU stage. Mount, unlike Black Bolt, who, like his comic book counterpart, couldn’t talk in Inhumans without his powerful voice causing havoc, would get to give speech if he was cast as Gambit.
