Sex trafficking is the subject of a new Netflix crime thriller called I AM ALL GIRLS. It’s about children being trafficked and exploited in particular. It’s all for the sake of money and influence. This is a South African film, but the story is important worldwide and spans many countries. The topic of young girls being raped and manipulated is extremely distressing to watch. It is, however, very much focused on the reality of the planet. Personally, I believe this film is both historically significant and entertaining as a crime thriller. IMDB
The film is set in South Africa and is based on true events. Apartheid is a factor in this story since it starts in 1994 and takes place in South Africa. Not as a focal point, but rather as an explanation for why these issues have been swept under the rug. Since I Am All Girls is about the exploitation of girls, it should come as no surprise that the main characters are female. Many people would be surprised to learn that the two main characters in this film are in a relationship. Yes, there are LGBTQ characters in this South African film, and they work incredibly well in a natural way.
