The performers (save Schwimmer, who doesn’t remember it) recollect a scenario in which they decide to merely throw a ball back and forth for as long as they can during the reunion. Even if you’ve never played that specific game, something about it makes viewers recall about a time when they spent hours doing something minor but immensely fulfilling with their best friends by their side. Perhaps we lacked the Friends’ good looks or their high-priced New York apartments. Maybe we didn’t have a monkey as a pet. However, there is a common element to the show that helped it become such a tremendous sensation. IMDB
There was discussion before the reunion aired as to whether the actors would reprise their previous roles. They don’t, but they do play a trivia game about the show, emulating the episode in which Joey Tribbiani and Chandler Bing compete in a quiz contest to win their more spacious apartment. When the females waffle, LeBlanc shouts that he knows the answer, and Aniston yells to the boys, “IT’S NOT YOUR TURN!” In these happy parts, the show feels most like an unseen Friends episode from years past, with LeBlanc exclaiming that he knows the answer and Aniston yelling, “IT’S NOT YOUR TURN!” Stop glancing over your phone whenever the reunion cuts to a quiz game with Schwimmer in front of a colorful question board.
