You might not recognize a lot of the attractive faces in the cast of Dom, Amazon Prime Video’s newest offering, if you’re unfamiliar with Brazilian television. The latest Portuguese-language criminal drama from the streaming service is based on a true event and follows a father and son who are both caught up in the drug war: Pedro (Gabriel Leone) is battling addiction, and his father, Victor (Flavio Tolezani), is a police officer who is desperate to help him. Victor, on the other hand, has dedicated his entire life and career to combating cocaine trafficking, while Pedro is on his way to become the leader of a criminal organization and Rio de Janeiro’s most sought man. We get glimpses of Victor’s youthful life, which led him to his profession in police enforcement, as we watch their lives collide, intersect, and occasionally mirror one another. Dom presents an image of two morally dubious individuals on opposing paths among constant action, twists, and family turmoil — and even if you’re a subtitle cynic, you might find yourself lured in. The series was shot in Brazil and has a group of Brazilian actors who are well-versed in thrillers, action movies, and soapy, high-drama dramas. After you’ve finished watching all eight episodes, here’s a list of who you’ll see on screen and where you can find them next.
